Located within a multi storey apartment block, its saving grace was the stunning view
over the river Thames from the penthouse’s 11th floor - wrap around terraces and full
length glazing maximized the panoramic vistas.
The ceilings were removed and additional 150 sq.m of usable space was discovered. Mezzanine levels were created as well as 7m high ceilings that produced amazing volumes. The master bedroom suite included a delicate yet surprisingly stable cantilevered wedge staircase; the wood was reduced to a minimum while concealing all the structure. Bathrooms were formed using solid stone slabs for sinks creating a very practical, clean and simple ‘feel’ to the space.
